Privacy & reuse

The short version: we know almost nothing about you, and you’re welcome to share what we make.

What we know about you

Almost nothing, on purpose. This site has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and sets no tracking cookies. We don't build a list, and we can't tell who you are.

One thing you should know: the ward finder. When you type an address or postal code, your browser sends it to Esri's geocoding service (geocode.arcgis.com) to figure out which ward it falls in. That lookup happens between your browser and Esri; we never see it and never store it. If you'd rather not use it, the ward map and list work without typing anything.

The boring plumbing: our host (Vercel) keeps standard, short-lived server logs, like every website's host. Fonts are bundled with the site itself, so visiting doesn't ping a font service. Links to sources and candidate sites take you to places with their own practices.

If you email corrections@londondecides.ca, we keep the email for as long as it takes to check the correction, and answers from candidates are published exactly as our questionnaire promises: word for word.

Accuracy, plainly

We work hard to get things right, and every claim links to a source you can check yourself. We're volunteers, not oracles: if something is wrong, tell us at corrections@londondecides.ca and we'll fix it promptly and say so. The site is information to help you decide, not advice, and you use it on that basis.

Reuse what we publish

Please do. If you're a teacher, a student, a neighbourhood association, a library, a reporter, anyone helping Londoners understand their city: you're welcome to share, print, and reprint what we publish, free, as long as you credit “London Decides (londondecides.ca)” and don't change the meaning.

That includes candidates and campaigns. Everything here is sourced, so a candidate quoting a number or sharing a slide from this site is pointing at the same public record anyone can check. The same terms apply to every campaign: credit London Decides, keep the source line if you share a slide, and don't change the meaning.

Using our material is not an endorsement, and no campaign may say or imply that it is. We don't endorse anyone, and a campaign's use of a page doesn't change what that page says about any candidate.

Not sure if your use is okay? Email corrections@londondecides.ca and you'll get a quick answer.
